SHOULD BABIES DRINK ALMOND MILK?

WRITTEN BY: JOSEPH

With plant-based milk being everywhere these days and lactose intolerance on the rise. Some parents are questioning if it is okay to feed their babies almond milk. But is it the best choice for babies?

Babies less than one year should drink breast milk or formula as they contain the ideal blend of calcium, fat, protein, and other essential vitamins and minerals to support your baby's needs.

Almond MIlk

NUtritionally Inferior

For a baby almond milk is not comparable to formula or breastmilk. Almond milk does not have enough fats, calories, or protein to support healthy growth for your baby.

NOT ENOUGH

NATURAL VITAMINS

Almond milk is missing many vitamins present in formula or breastmilk, such as potassium, vitamin D, and calcium.

FORTFIED MILK

IS NOT THE SAME

While almond milk can come fortified with calcium and other vitamins and minerals, the body generally finds these harder to process than if they come naturally.

If you're considering almond milk because your baby has a milk allergy or lactose intolerance, there are other options, such as a hypoallergenic or soy-based formula.
