Pineapple juice has been a topic of discussion when it comes to a natural cough relief. But why is that? Is this just grasping at straws for a homeopathic remedy?
More research is needed to truly understand the relationship between pineapple juice and cough. But, here is what we know so far...
Pineapple has bromelain, a compound that can help relieve cough from bronchiectasis, chronic bronchitis, pneumonia, and other diseases.
We are not sure how much bromelain we can get from pineapple juice and if the amount is enough to be effective. We need further research.
When bromelain is used clinically, it is produced by pharmaceutical companies and therefore has the potency required.
Why Is That ?
Pineapple juice as a natural remedy for cough has little supportive research. Still there is also no risk in trying it out yourself especially if it bring comfort while you are sick.
